Carbon and Cigarette Smoke

A carbon filter can be effective in reducing the amount of cigarette smoke in the air. Cigarette smoke contains a variety of harmful chemicals, including tar, nicotine, and carbon monoxide, which can cause health problems for both smokers and non-smokers who are exposed to the smoke.

Carbon filters are made up of activated carbon, which has a highly porous structure that allows it to adsorb chemicals and pollutants from the air. When cigarette smoke passes through a carbon filter, the activated carbon captures and holds onto the harmful chemicals in the smoke, removing them from the air.

Carbon filters can be used in a variety of settings to reduce exposure to cigarette smoke, including in both public and private environments. They can be incorporated into air filtration systems, which include several layers of filtering to remove odors and pollutants from the air. All MatrixAir units include a carbon filter as part of a three-phase filtering system, which also includes a HEPA filter and pre-filter.
